Origin Story:
Payton Ryan was a decorated Army veteran with multiple tours under her belt. Known for her uncanny survival instincts and exceptional marksmanship, she returned home to become a police officer.
One fateful night during a raid on an illegal weapons trafficking operation, Payton found herself cornered and out of ammunition. In desperation, she grabbed a prototype handgun that was in the process of being stolen — an advanced modular weapon encoded to lock to the first biological signature it encountered.
The weapon instantly bound to her DNA, rejecting all others. Upon firing it, the weapon released a stunning concussive blast that disarmed and knocked back every enemy in the room. That night, Recoil was born.
